This season, The NPL Cup competitions have been revamped. All 45 clubs are placed into a group of 3, based on geographical location. Each club plays once at home and once away, guaranteeing a local derby for everyone.
The fifteen group winners are joined by the nine best second placed teams in the second phase, which will also be based on the same groups-of-three design. The eight winners of the second phase groups will contest the League Cup, the eight second-placed teams join the President's Cup whilst the third placed clubs form the quarter-finalists of the Unifilla Cup.

Radcliffe and Stalybridge finished with the same record. Because of Celtic's FA Cup adventure, the clubs agreed to a toss of the coin rather than a play-off match, which Radcliffe won.
